Sales Tax Policy

Sales Tax Policy

Transparent. State-Compliant. No Hidden Charges.

At Moving Container Center, we believe in full pricing transparency. Sales tax is applied based on your delivery location and in accordance with U.S. state and local tax laws. We do not inflate or hide these charges — they are clearly listed in your final invoice before payment.

How Sales Tax is Calculated

Sales tax is calculated based on the delivery destination, not the billing address.

We apply the state-mandated tax rate applicable to your location, which may also include any local or county taxes required by law.

For example:

  • A container delivered to California will include California state sales tax
  • A delivery to Texas will reflect Texas tax rates
  • A container shipped to a tax-exempt organization will be reviewed upon submission of valid documentation

Our system ensures that tax is properly assessed and disclosed in your official invoice. No last-minute fees or unexpected charges will appear during payment processing.

Tax Exemption for Eligible Buyers

If your organization qualifies for sales tax exemption, you must submit a valid and current exemption certificate prior to payment. We cannot retroactively refund sales tax after the transaction has been completed.

Eligible buyers may include:

  • Government agencies
  • Nonprofit organizations
  • Resellers with valid resale certificates
  • Educational or religious institutions (state-specific)

All documents must be submitted to your assigned sales representative and approved before invoicing.

Important Notes

  • We do not collect or charge sales tax in states where Moving Container Center does not meet nexus or filing obligations, unless otherwise required under marketplace laws.
  • We do not profit from tax collection — all sales tax collected is remitted directly to the appropriate tax authorities.
  • If your project involves multiple delivery locations, tax will be calculated per delivery site.

Requesting an Invoice with Tax Breakdown

Your invoice will always:

  • Show the container price
  • List any applicable tax rate(s)
  • Display the total tax amount
  • Provide a final payment total (including tax)

This ensures your accounting team or organization has a clear audit trail for budgeting and compliance.
